We Have a Sickness

Two evenings ago, a young man went to the home of his wife and children. He shot his wife in the stomach intending to kill her.  He did this in the full view of his children. After shooting his wife, he went to a nearby town and shot and killed himself. Why?

The news frequently has stories of feuding parents killing each other, their children and themselves. A young marine was recently arrested for the murder of a woman accusing him of rape, but ready to have his child. He burned her pregnant remains in a pit in his backyard. Why?

Stories of schools and universities being locked down because of crazed gun men or knife wielders or threatened bombers have become almost daily fare. Why?

Teenagers beating one another, exposing themselves, and worse are being found in public videos on the internet. Why?

It seems to me we have a great sickness in our culture and our society for all of these things to be going on and for them becoming commonplace.

Maybe I am wrong, but it seems to me the beginnings of all of this becoming so commonplace, began with our allowing Judaeo-Christian values to be removed from our public places, our schools and universities, our places of business. Christianity has come under attack in this country as never before. We have forgotten the very principles and ideals this country was founded upon. We have kicked God and Jesus Christ out of our schools and our public places.

I think our great sickness is due to our trying to do away with Christianity and the centuries-old hatred of Judaism. I think we had better start changing our ways back to the principals this country was founded upon, before it is too late and we no longer have a country. I know we cannot continue without healing and curing this sickness and survive.
